Little Pancakes, Upper Thomson

Touted as a cafe that is completely devoted to pancakes, Little Pancake unveils of a number of pancake combinations that is categorised into Sweet, Savory and Asian on the menu. Located at Thomson Imperial Court, it is almost easy to miss out the cafe, given the new slew of lively eateries just opposite the road.

Unless you have already decided on what you want, the best time to come is probably not at 12 noon when they open as you would probably have to wait for a long time if you happen to be the last few from the initial crowd to place your order. A 10-15 minutes of preparation time is required for each item, so we had to wait almost an hour as we were the 8th in the order queue.

Something Blue
$8.50
Something Blue comprises of a stack of mini pancakes served with blueberry compote and either your choice of vanilla ice cream or cream cheese. We opted for ice cream and our only gripe was that the ice cream was too small a portion. All items come with complimentary maple syrup and butter and you can add additional toppings such as Azuki Beans, Kaya, Raisins, Crushed Almonds, Jam, Maple syreup, butter at $0.80 per topping as well as an additional serving of ice cream ($3.20 for single scoop and $5 for double scoop).

Ham and Cheesy
$8.50
We were recommended the Ham and Cheesy dish instead of the Big Fan of  All Breakfast, as the dish was purportedly more interesting given it's burger-like presentation. You would find ham and cheese sandwiched between two miniature pancakes stacked like a burger, served with potato salad and greens. The savory profile of the ham and cheese complimented the two lightly buttered pancakes and I thought it was a good recommendation.

Cresmy potato Mash topped with bacon bits

Most patrons were seen having the Big Fan of All Breakfast ($10.90), which comprises of a set of pancakes, scrambled eggs, special glazed sausages, potato salad and greens. Another recommendation would be the Going Nutella for you ($8.20), with pancakes topped with chocolate chips, wafer cubes, almonds and a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Novel concept but the portions are a little too small. I wouldn't come for a main meal but it would probably be ideal for high tea or desserts.
